Adolescents
Adolescence is a time of significant emotional, social, and developmental change. Young people may find themselves navigating challenges around identity, relationships, belonging, self-esteem, anxiety, family dynamics, and the growing pressures of their world.
Therapy offers adolescents an opportunity to make sense of their emotions, thoughts, relationships, and experiences. At the heart of this work is a therapeutic relationship that is respectful, responsive, and centred around each young person.
I recognise the importance of autonomy and choice during adolescence and work at each young person’s pace, creating an environment where they can feel safe, heard, respected, and understood.
Confidential Support
I provide a confidential, respectful, and non-judgemental space where adolescents can feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship and is discussed clearly with both young people and their parents or caregivers, including the circumstances where information may need to be shared to support a young person’s safety and wellbeing.
Therapy is tailored to the individual needs of each adolescent and may include talking therapy alongside creative and expressive approaches, mindfulness, and other therapeutic modalities.
Through this process, adolescents can develop greater self-awareness, strengthen their sense of identity and emotional resilience, and find healthier ways of coping with challenges, navigating relationships, and moving forward with greater confidence.
Brighter days can happen.
